Upland Bird Dog Training
I began training pointing dogs, mostly setters, in the early 1980’s and have begun training upland flushing breeds, as well. Birds make bird dogs, and we have the birds, equipment, and facility required to complete the process.
After determining what is required, together, we work toward your goals. You are provided with daily progress and evaluation documents as well as photos highlighting the day’s events. Nothing is hidden or left to chance. We train gun dogs; “One step at a time - each step to the last”. ™
Note: Health, (vaccination & parasite) documents may be required.

Alaska to Africa, I’ve made the mistakes and can offer advice needed to make your adventure in the outdoors and not in an airport. By no means do I have all the answers, but I have the time to research them for you.
To create a lasting heritage, I enjoy passing on outdoor skills to others and often volunteer for various organizations in that endeavor. I prefer to train people to wrangle their own pointing dogs as well as offer advice on reloading their own ammunition, hunting and fly-fishing techniques, or tying flies.

Have Your Training Sessions or Preserve Hunts Photographed
Make the many “firsts” last a lifetime by photographing them as they happen. Award-winning photgrapher, Kaitlynn “Kat” Hutson of Ruby Mountain Photography & Design, will accompany you in the field to capture each and every moment - first point and retrieve to family/dog portraits.
This option is available at our training site or at regional hunting preserves.
